It was barely dawn and I was out walking Freddie and Shonie when a slight movement on the ridge caught my eye. Through the early morning mist I spotted this pair standing at attention watching us.
Seldom a day goes by that I don’t see does on our property, but the days I see bucks are very few and far between. Bucks are elusive loners. They do not run in pairs or herds and stay back, safely hidden from prying eyes and trigger happy hunters. I can’t remember another time when I have seen a mature buck and doe together out in the open.
I hurried Freddie and Shonie inside and took this picture through the side window.
I hope you enjoy seeing it.
