Sweet Cabin Life

RED FOX

I spotted a small red fox in the yard and thought she was just taking a nap in the sunshine. I grabbed my camera and when I went to snap the picture she raised up and I realized she had a small squirrel in her mouth.

Since Owlbert, our resident horned owl, has gone missing for several months now our yard is abundant in squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks making it the perfect hunting ground for small predators. Even the red fox have returned in larger number since Owlbert is gone.

This red fox ate her lunch then moved on into the woods, no doubt to take an afternoon nap.
